The
young dance student's first goal is to develop concentration, necessary
for any pursuit in life, and positive group social behavior. Students
learn not only how to move but how to be still. They experience the joy
of movement and share that joy with others in their class. Very soon
the child dancer comes to appreciate the freedom of discipline and
apply it organically to other aspects of their lives. At Studio
Dionne the skills and technique of dance are achieved through
respectful and positive teacher-student interaction and never sought
through negative or demeaning comments towards the student or their
body. |
Ballet
opens a window to the world of art, history, music, and literature.
This expanded world combined with the ability to concentrate and
control one's own body is a proven recipe for success. All this is
accomplished while the child student is positively supported and guided
towards joyful self-expression and always encouraged to have fun.
