CityDance Ensemble was recently awarded a grant by the Georgia Council for the Arts | |||||
CityDance,
Inc. is a not-for-profit organization established to fulfill our
commitment to the community and is dedicated to bringing the Dance Arts
to children, young people and their families. Through outreach
education, scholarships, performances and performing opportunities
CityDance, Inc. serves as a conduit of Culture and Art for the purpose
of personal empowerment and community enrichment. CityDance,
Inc. has awarded numerous scholarships and contributed to the
development of an adaptive dance class for visually impaired
children. CityDance has conducted a series of dance workshops and
performances for the Fulton County School Arts Program. CityDance
presented MOVING FORWARD , a dance Festival for Gulf Coast
Relief that according to the Atlanta Jounrnal-Constition "unites the
ATL's most respected dance companies.on the same stage for the first
time." CityDance Ensemble, our community dance company, was featured at the Partnership Walk Kick-off in Centennial Park, the Sandy Springs Festival, Dogwood Festival, The Martin Luther King Celebration at Turner Field hosted by the Hosea Williams Foundation and has appeared onstage at the Alliance Theatre in the Woodruff Arts Center, The Ferst Center and the Rialto Center for the Performing Arts with the Atlanta Dance Community in the Moving Forward Festival . This dance festival that brought together 9 of the city’s distinguished dance companies was acknowledged as Best of Atlanta 2006 by the Creative Loafing Newspaper. This program is supported in part by the Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA) through the appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly. GCA also receives support from its partner agency, the National Endowment for the Arts.
