There is a $30 non-refundable fee due at registration. For currently enrolled students of Studio Dionne, School of Dance and Music, the registration fee will be credited towards the camp fee.

DANCE AND MUSIC CAMP

This camp is designed as an exploration and enrichment experience for children to become acquainted with a variety of dance forms and basic musical instruction. In the tree that is dance, Ballet is the trunk. Each day begins with a one hour class followed by an art project. Younger children make a headpiece fashioned after their favorite dance or theatrical character, while older children collage dance and musical images. During the afternoon choral session students learn to vocalize and harmonize while learning musical terms, basic theory and instrument identification.  There will also be additional dance classes each day in Jazz, Hip-Hop, Modern or Capoeira to expose students to different dance styles. No previous dance or music experience is necessary.* Students should bring their own lunch. Morning and afternoon snacks and drinks will be provided. * Students working at Studio Dionne Level 2 or its equivalent, will have a more challenging ballet component.

MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP

This dynamic performance camp will present to young people all the elements involved in a musical theatre production including voice, dance, acting, stage makeup, rehearsals, auditioning and more.  Each day begins with stretch & movement followed by improvisational acting class. There will also be a full jazz dance class and voice class each day as well as rehearsal for a Broadway musical production number to be performed at the conclusion of camp. Students should bring their own lunch. Morning and afternoon snacks and drinks will be provided.

CINDERELLA CAMP

Each day, students enjoy a 45 minute dance class and art activities such as making a magic wand (just like Cinderella's Fairy godmother), as well as other fun-filled drawing and coloring projects. During the week students will see some of the Royal Ballet's version of the classic fairy tale and be encouraged to talk about, act out and dance their favorite characters in the story. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

CAPOEIRA CAMP

Capoeira Art synthesizes elements of dance, gymnastics, martial arts and music. Children learn all these elements to create the Capoeira game. Musical instruments are played and students experience the Portuguese language, history and culture as it relates to Capoeira, a vigorous activity enjoyed by both boys and girls. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
