2010 Summer Camps and Programs

CINDERELLA CAMP Each day, students enjoy a 45 minute dance class and art activities such as making a magic wand (just like Cinderella's Fairy godmother), as well as other fun-filled drawing and coloring projects. During the week students will see some of the Royal Ballet's version of the classic fairy tale and be encouraged to talk about, act out and dance their favorite characters in the story. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

DANCE AND MUSIC CAMP This camp is designed as an exploration and enrichment experience. Children will be acquainted with a variety of dance forms and be given a foundation in musical instruction. In the tree that is dance, ballet is the trunk. Each day begins with a one hour class followed by an art project. During the afternoon choral session, students learn to vocalize and harmonize while learning musical terms, basic theory and instrument identification. Students will also have an additional dance class each day in Jazz, Hip-Hop, Modern or Capoeira. No previous dance or music experience is necessary. Students should bring their own lunch. Morning and afternoon snacks and drinks will be provided. Students working at Studio Dionne Level 2 or its equivalent will have a more challenging ballet component.

MUSICAL THEATER This dynamic performance camp will present to young people all the elements involved in a musical theater production including voice, dance, acting, stage makeup, rehearsals, auditioning and more. Each day begins with stretch & movement followed by improvisational acting class. There will also be a full jazz dance class and voice class each day as well as rehearsal for a Broadway musical production number to be performed at the conclusion of camp. Students should bring their own lunch. Morning and afternoon snacks and drinks will be provided.
MUSICAL THEATER 9:00-3:00 pm	7-12 years	July 19-23	$260/week Multiple sessions, $250/wk After care 3-5:30 $60/wk

BALLET SUMMER SESSION* Technique & Variation summer intensive for Ballet level II, III, and rising II’s. Sessions include technique class followed by rehearsal learning variations from some of ballets greatest classical works– such as Coppélia and Sleeping Beauty. On the last day (June 29th) there will be a studio presentation from 5-6pm. *Open to students from other dance programs pending a brief interviewwith the Director.
